In a letter from Raleigh Parkin, Montreal, September 1968, Parkin writes: “This Tom Thomson painting was given to my father and mother, the late Sir George and Lady Parkin, in April, 1920 by their daughter and son-in-law, Alice and Vincent Massey. It has been in my possession since 1931.”
