The work was also titled (recto) Spring Landscape with Snow; (verso) Rising Mist - Heavy Skies.

Mrs. John Lewis Severn Scadding was advised by the artist William Cruikshank, her teacher as well as the person who seems to have been the teacher of Thomson, to buy a work by Thomson.
