Remarks

“Int” on the verso has also been read as “Jut” but MacCallum wrote “Intermediate Blue” on the verso of another sketch, Islands, Canoe Lake, Spring 1916 (1916.20) so “int” probably is an abbreviation to indicate instructions to the framer to use the colour “Intermediate Blue.”
