Remarks

F.W. in the group of verso inscriptions refers to conservator Frank Worrall, Toronto, who cleaned and varnished the work in 1947.

According to R.G. Tozer, Park Naturalist, Algonquin Park District, Parks Ontario, Ministry of Natural Resources, Ontario, the setting shows Carcajou Bay on Grand Lake. Charles C. Hill, believes that the sketch was painted most probably at Lake Cauchon.
