Remarks

In a letter to Dr. MacCallum, 6 October 1914, Thomson made what seems to be a rough drawing of the sketch. He wrote about it, that if he could get “$10 or 15 for it I should be greatly pleased but if they don’t care to put in so much let it go for what they will give...,” MacCallum Papers, National Gallery of Canada Archives, Ottawa (repr. Reid & Hill 2002, 299).
