Provenance
Remarks

Robson’s inscription reads as if it were written at a later date. Likely due to faulty memory, he erred on the location of Rous & Mann Press Limited at the time of this work. Thomson only worked at Rous & Mann from October 1912 to 1913 when it was located at 72 York Street in Toronto. May 1919 is the date that the company moved to 172 Simcoe Street, a newly constructed building.

Details in the work recall Little Falls, Winter 1913–14 (1913-1914.03) and The Silent Lake, Winter 1913–14 (1913-1914.05)
