Remarks
On some of the pages of the sketchbook, Thomson drew politicians and possibly cultural figures of the period such as Sir Robert Laird Borden and Hector Charlesworth as well as family members such as Gordon Harkness, his nephew. The original sketchbook had 60 leaves of “Imitation Steinback Paper” and cost 45 cents. In 1970, Joan Murray noted only 48 pages were there. In November 1986, she noted that most of the pages were loose and pages 63 and 82 were missing.
